We are currently not requiring log-in to edit entries, but the entries will be regularly moderated by the RMD. The open-source nature of this project does require that all users exercise discretion and good judgment in what they write. There are a number of key principles that should be followed in editing entries:
- Respect the material that is already up. Do not overwrite other entries unless you are certain there is a factual error.
- Scales can be described in your own words, and references to where scales are found can be provided. Do not post items here, unless you are certain they are in the public domain. Any posts that violate copyright will be deleted immediately.
- Providing some description of the validity, reliability, and factor structure of scales to help potential users is strongly encouraged. Subjective judgments of whether a scale is "good" or "bad" are not as useful.
- You do have to register to make an entry, which is just a minor precaution to prevent Internet bots from spamming or vandalizing the site.
